First of all, I loved their backgrounds. They have “normal” lives, with the problems that a normal young man could face in his struggle to find his way. (Okay, perhaps not so normal, I mean, they are beautiful, talented, with lot of charisma, with lot of courage etc.. and sadly I never met anybody similar to the way I see Kazuya, for example.. ) So nothing too strange or strong. I’m not again extreme fictions, but this is also very interesting, and real.

I was completely moved by these two sentences: “Jin thinks about dreams. And about them both, Kame and him alike, living precariously at the edges of their own broken aspirations” and “And - is this what “growing up” is all about - to make the best with what you can get, instead of reaching up for the stars?”
That’s exactly the point where I started to really connect with them.

Ah, and on lighter tone, I loved the “low chuckle, sweet as a piece of Belgian chocolate” ^.^

I'm so glad you approve of their backgrounds, I wanted to somewhat, yeah, remove them from idol-world a bit: popular, but not extremely so. Where on the one side - there is the matter of unfulfilled dreams that is in part really - a part of a process of growing (which doesn't mean it hurts less), and on the other side - Jin, at least, is certainly enjoying more freedom than any of his idol-friends. Kame... Even the idol that real Kame is I feel that he still "lives precariously at the edge of his broken dream" with baseball, so - this is not even AU.

Heh, about the chuckle! Jin definitely likes it, doesn't he? But for me, personally, it's more important that even at this point Kame's unrestricted laughter does more to him than a sultry chuckle)
