Hmm.

I just realized that I had been cut from a few people's journals, and without warning or reason. At first, I felt like maybe I had done something wrong, and then I realized, they probably were just too afraid to have me around because of other friends I have. It's sad that people will just do that without a word of warning, but what can you do ( Read more... )

I've been seeing that a lot lately for other friends posts. It seems as if no one has the courage to say anything and just cut you off.

*hugs* I enjoy reading your journal :)

I guess it's the whole "spring cleaning" mentality going around as far as friends are concerned. :) it's a shame that people can't at least tell you "hey, I'm going to cut you and for such and such reason". But I guess we all just avoid that thinking that everyoen will be confrontational. Too bad. Oh well, their loss, right? :)

Thanks I'm glad you enjoy reading it. I enjoy reading yours as well. :) Post more! *hugs*

I couldn't have said it better myself. That is ultimately what I decided to do, wish them the best and hope they will get where/what they need. It's still a shame that I didn't even get told I was being cut and why. But, that is life. So many things we don't have the answers to, but have to know there is a reason for everything and that ultimately, it will be for my benefit in some form or another. Thank you for your kind words and I knew you wouldn't be cutting me, especially after you sent me that comment, bummed that I had mistakenly forgotten to add you. :) I love your comments and look forward to getting to know you better. You seem like a really sweet person and I love that I have more people like you on my LJ as of late. More than makes up for those that have chosen to remove themselves from my lj and my friendslist. :) Thanks!!

I'll generally cut someone off if they're not posting... but you're not anywhere near that category ;). In most cases, these have been people that I have known for a while in person and had suggested that we keep in touch through LJ, but they just never posted.

In 2003, I had a major incident with my "ex" regarding my children (the police eventually had to be called in to have them returned...) and decided that anyone in her community (many of whom are my friends as well) had to be removed from my LJ list. I did tell them why, and to the one they said that they understood my reasoning and weren't offended (... disappointed that they couldn't follow what was going on with me anymore, but not offended). I spent a year and a bit with a friends-only LJ with no public posts... ugh. Things are much better today, but I still keep some things as "friends only"... espcially anything with a high emotional level on my part...

Yeah, I can understand cutting people, but when you do, it's always nice fi you at least give a reason. :) You sound like you did things the right way.

Sorry about that time period when things didn't go so well for you and you had to go friends only. i have recently thought about doing just that for a few reasons, but decided that I won't let certain things/people keep me from using this open outlet as I want to and have to "censor" myself. Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate your feedback and thanks for reading and commenting. :)
