If Harry Potter DOESN'T die, I will respect JK Rowling as an author even less than I already do. She's built up the series for Harry to go down with the ship.

but i could see harry losing (one/some/all) of his friends as they get closer and closer to voldemort and that being the impetus for him to use the darkest of magicks in the final battle, cliche yes, but forseeable
