i've been having the worst case of insomnia lately. too many things on my mind i guess. too much stress! anyways...i went to get my annual (more like...when was the last time?) physical today. this included all the "womenly" exams as well. it has been a while since i last got one. i forgot how uncomfortable it feels to sit there naked with this ( Read more... )

A friend of mine told me once that whenever he has trouble with insomnia, he'll get out a piece of paper and write down whatever thoughts he has that are keeping him up. Didn't matter what they were, even if it was just nonsense, he just wrote them down. So I tried it and it seems to work.

I think it works because it creates a physical way to get the otherwise nonmaterial thoughts out of your head. For a long time I tried using something like the LJ to do it, but there's something about pen and paper that keyboard and monitor can't match.
