yea man. i totally get what youre sayin.

we're pretty lucky we can aknowledge our own existence and to an extent, grasp a real concept of our universe.

i completely agree, have always been a proponent of the idea, but i just want to make one comment.

i think plants have almost as much consciousness as we do. they don't just "exist", they simply perceive things differently than we do. plants react to stimuli and appear to move deliberately just as humans do (if you've ever seen a fast-forward time-elapse video, it's mind blowing), plants have hormones, and reproduce sexually. one of the most mindblowing things to me is that chlorophyll and hemoglobin have the exact same structure, the only difference being that hemoglobin has an iron acceptor and chlorophyll has a magnesium (i think it's magnesium) receptor. plants and animals just have different organs.

look under a microscope at a living euglena specimen, and it will fucking floor you. they're a unicellular, motile algae that i studied in my botany class, and their behavior appears so animal-like under the microscope.
