Working in communications gives you so many connections that after two months you'd have more backup opportunities than you'll know what to do with. But you'd need the right knowledge capital to make yourself marketable. If you're not feeling the journalism major, look into a communication studies major and classes that loosely resemble media studies. An English major with a rhetoric concentration would be applicable, too. I don't know what the culture is like in broadcasting, but it seems like you'd be able to gravitate to and from music and sports radio over the course of a career.

The least you can do is try it. If it doesn't happen, you can figure something else out, and if it does, that's awesome. I've pretty much decided that I'll end up throwing away a few years of my life trying to be an actor before I figure out that I won't make it. We're only young once, after all.

Yeah. There's something oddly appealing about the idea of living in some tiny, cramped apartment, scraping together just enough money to eat and pay rent while working the graveyard shift at some radio station. I wouldn't want to live that way forever, but I think it'd be an experience that would teach me a lot about myself and who I really am.
