I'd recommend pretty much anything from the various Wesley Road Trip mixes, though the kids might not get a kick from the 90s nostalgia as much as we do.

Also, They Might Be Giants are awesome. The animaniacs also have a song for all the states' capitals.
Also, jams are cool, just make sure that they do not distract the kids when they are supposed to be working. And remember, classical is cool too!
If I remember anything from my younger years, it's that after listening to a few songs the class will pick one that they love to itty bitty pieces and will request it all the time until the opening refrains make you want to weep in agony.
