Dear Mike -- I join in your noting the death of CBS correspondent Bob Simon. He'd reported on dozens of wars and other international crises -- and died in a traffic accident in New York.
We just saw his final "60 Minutes" piece tonight -- about a cure for Ebola; it was decent, though possibly not what he'd have wanted for his swan song.
I think you got the snow that was meant for us. Sorry about that.
Do you have a roof rake? Or any way to pull some of the snow off your roof? I'd worry too. I rake the shallow-angled part of my roof after heavy snows.
Yes, but the roof rake doesn't reach back too far. Now they're saying we won't get much snow tomorrow, so I think we'll be okay, and the possible storm for this coming weekend may also turn out to be no big deal.
My roof rake needs about 3 feet of extension -- and I may hunt down an extension piece. But even pulling what we can reach off the roof makes me feel a little better about the structural integrity of the den (which is where my roof is really shallow).
I've got about 5 or 6 inches of fresh snow out there today. Gotta go shovel some of it. *sigh*
My SigOther Joanne has commitments in DC that will take her north next week -- and I'm sorry for her having to face weeks more of Arctic Vortices (the proper plural; you could look it up...)

I'll definitely be watching the tribute CBS does for him on 60 Minutes this coming Sunday.
