I got to play video games for almost three days straight!
I feel like this game was fighting me. When I tried playing it on my dinky TV, the words were too tiny to read, so I almost lost all the tutorial battles because I had no idea what was happening. THANKS EMMA HONEYWELL, you saved my ass. Then we tried it on the HD TV and it was great, everything was so pretty. But it was also Hockey Night in Canada, so had to let dad watch his games before I could actually play. THEN THE LAG. But otherwise good game, A+. I can see why people might get frustrated with the battle system, but I like it for being a kind of cross between Final Fantasy menu clicking and Fire Emblem's tactical positioning stuff.
Now let's get to the important parts.
EMMA HONEYWELL is here to kick your ass. She is a sweet fighter who isn't also jailbait! You can kind of tell that she's a bit older than all the teenagers hanging around! I love her and want to marry her, and I feel really bad when her union dies because I fucked up.
Actually, I was a bit surprised to discover that some of my random soliders were ladies. They weren't put into an automatic magic role, but get to swing those giant axes around like a pro. Also, their armor looks exactly the same as the men's. I appreciate the lack of female cheesecake, Square Enix.
Rush Sykes is here to be your cute dumb protagonist. I like him because his kind of like a less emo Vaan. From where I am in the game, there's only been a little bit of, "I am too useless for anything ever," but he snapped out of it. His little purple, quilted vest is so precious, eee.
David Nassau is here to launch his huge freaking cannon, wow. He's in this post because he's pretty. Also, a competent ruler, I guess. Only 9 hours into the game, so I haven't really seen alot of him. BUT! I love his Captain America/Benton Fraser attitude towards justice. There were a couple times I'm sure a sneak attack would have been great, but no, he had to give the villains a chance to surrender.
There are no pictures of the rest of his other three generals besides Emma because I was either too lazy, or one of them was a frog thing that can go die in a fire.
The game looks really, really nice, and it's a shame they didn't wait to make a decent port for the XBox 360. But the lag sometimes helps with the Quick Time Events, I guess? The voice acting doesn't always sync with the lip movements, but it doesn't really bother me since I have subtitles on anyways.
Prince of Persia also looks really nice, but we knew that already! In HD it's just that much more breathtaking. I love just running around in that game and hanging out with Elika. Sorry you had to save me so many times because I just fell off a ledge or something.
Man, I forgot how addictive Pokemon is. My character is named Raidou, and his little fire thing is Gouto, and together they protect the Capital from--wait. Anyways, I got lost trying to find the first town so Gouto is super strong! And I have a Pokemon that is called Meryl Sheep.
