I don't think the questions are answerable as phrased. "The other gender" is not an individual, and thus isn't capable of individual knowledge. And "a member" isn't a *specific* individual, and what I would hope to teach would be dependent on that.

Same thing I'd tell my own gender. That what worked for your last lover might not work for this one. Don't get set in your ways about your fantastic never-fail technique. Ask each partner (or watch them responding) and adjust what you do for that person.

Also, in spite of what porns show you, spit/saliva is not an appropriate lubricant. Go buy water-based lube to use with condoms and don't be embarrassed to use it. Friction is not sexy.
