Not a vegan (duh) but I do use flax.

You could A: use the seeds - whole or ground (in a coffee grinder more economical and fresher than commercial) in cooking, baking etc. Dump them over cereal, hot or cold, or soy yogurt, etc. etc.

B: You could get the oil and use it in salad dressings or smoothies, juice drinks or other cold applications. Or if you're up to it just swallow a spoonful down.

my grandmother use to swallow a table spoon of extra virgin olive oil every day. suppose to be good for your cholesterol.
