silly moment at work today.

i was working on editing a piece that had a list of medications - first the generic name (the official non-brand-specific name) and then examples of the trademarked name(s) that it's marketed under.

the list looked something like this:

  • acetaminophen (e.g., Tylenol®, Panadol®)
  • caffeine
  • ethanol
  • sildenafil (Viagra®)

Why stop at products? How about their application:

# acetaminophen (what to give your wife before bed so that excuse is gone)
# caffeine (what you need in order to be able to listen to your boss at the 8:30 meeting)
# ethanol (what you need after the 8:30 meeting lets out at noon and you now have a shiny new box you have to fill before 1)
# sildenafil (what you need at night when your wife refuses the acetaminophen, you've lost your box and you've only got an hour with your motel room-mate)

ah. sadly, ethanol and caffeine were the only ones that were actually on the list i was playing with. i changed the others to protect the innocent (or something). the real drugs were much more boring. :P
