If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I'll post some pictures but I don't think I ( Read more... )

I really don't know how little it is getting. People have told me their local papers and news stations are talking about it but CNN wasn't covering it until shortly. I think Fox News was covering it some, I saw some pictures posted on the BBC site but I have no idea about anything else.

The only thing I can think of in relation to the CNN issue is that they forcus more on international news and obviously the Times Square bomb attempt and the oil spill in the Gulf fall more under that but they were all over Katrina. Honestly, this is probably very close to that scale if you take in the entire Middle Tennesse area as well as in Memphis and Southern Kentucky that was affected.

I just turned CNN on and they talked about TN extremely quickly, the moved onto birds in the Gulf and then talked about Obama visiting a high school in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Who cares?

I'm so glad you're okay.

My mom works, well more likely worked, in Bellevue. We saw some channel 5 footage of the area where her work is and we could see the roof of the building and only the roof, the rest was under water.

I just feel so overwhelmed when i think about it all.

You too, love.

Oh, god, that's terrible. Where did she work?

Me too, I've wanted to break down a lot of times but I haven't. I'm sure it'll all come rushing out. I just want the water to recede and real recovery to begin.

She worked at Healthcare Pharmacy on Newsom Station (I think). Her bosses are going to try working out of their home for now so at the moment she still has a job.

I almost broke down when I saw pictures of Riverfront Park.

Well, that's at least some good news. Have you heard about Chelsia and her family?

Yeah, it's ridiculous. Have you seen the inside of the arena? It's hard to believe that the place where I saw Green Day twice is basically a swimming pool.

Goddamn, hon. I'm so sorry. I'm glad your family is okay though *hugs* I don't have anything to spare now but when I get paid, I'll donate. Thank you for posting this. I hadn't seen any pictures from inside the Opryland Hotel.

*hugs* I really, really appreciate that R, I know how tough times have been for you so that means a lot. I felt like I had to because it was just distressing me so bad but talking about it is helping a lot. It won't ever be the same, but it'll be okay.
