Greetings from my parents' living room.  It's great to take a few days off once in a while.

You'll all be happy to know that the residue of fire (smoke, black streaks, godawful smell) comes out of natural fibers with the help of good cleaning agents and two or three washings.  Laundry with a karmic purpose is always a thumbs-up project.

Thankfully, it's all in the past now. It's been more than a year. Read about it here.

Everything is fine now; they've moved back into their house. :) I've just been here on extended break for Passover. I had some clothes that I saved from my old closet and luckily, they are coming clean!
