I should have known better than to post something of significance on a Friday.

So I'll ask again.  :)

As you may have deduced (the sharp cognitive skills of

I am quite suprised at the lack of excitement around this event.

I was just thinking about it this morning, as a matter of fact. Someone else on my flist is involved in it too. A few days ago she asked her flist what they'd ask JKR, and I've been mulling it over. Frankly I'm quite jealous. I'd love to meet JKR. It's great that you get to go though. :)

But I guess fandom is all about EMO sex and dysfunction...

*sigh* Mostly.

I'm really interested to know what you would ask. (Though, I'm sure I could think of a few questions based on our conversations from the past. ;)

I haven't forgotten about this. I'm still mulling. The problem is, most of the questions I'd like to have answered either will be in the final book -- and therefore are questions JKR is unlikely to answer -- or they are unlikely to be resolved at all because they are too specific.

I really like May's question about whether or not Dumbledore's death had been foretold to him.

A few of the questions I could offer now are:

(1) After the series is finished, would/will JKR consider publishing a set of Potter encyclopedias of sorts, one that would contain the full background and details she's created for all the characters, including her maps and sketches?

(2) If the effects had the potential to be so far-reaching and catastrophic, why did McGonagall (or Dumbledore for that matter) trust the then 13-year-old Hermione with a Timeturner just to complete additional classwork? Was the Timeturner a contrivance for Prisoner only, or will the device figure in the final book ( ... )

Sorry. I have been bouncing between hay fever-induced zoning and Mother's Day festivities zoning.

I never know what to ask in that kind of a situation. There's always the one so many of us want to know, whether Snape really has turned against the Order, but that'd be too obvious.

How about: "Did Dumbledore ever hear a prophecy about his death or did he otherwise have foreknowledge of it? I always wondered why in HBP he suddenly started not only to talk to Harry a lot more, but insisted on sharing a lot of his knowledge."

That's a great one, May! I hadn't thought about that. *ponders*

I am so excited to see what questions she answers. Did you get my suggestion? I think Ileft you one, right?
Well, have a good time reading through them and selecting one that you are going to submit.

I am long distance excited plus jealous.

OK - is there a pond or other body of water at the Burrow?

Is Romilda Vane a deliberate anagram of I'm a Dan lover??

the sharp cognitive skills of magnolia_mama always impress me
*preens* :-D

Okay, here are a couple:
1. Will any part of Trelawney's prediction about Harry in Chapter 26 of OotP ("Seen and Unforseen") come true for him?
2. Will Fawkes return in the 7th book?

Here's a fun one for Stephen King:
1. Any chance the Rock Bottom Remainders will be touring again soon?

I'm so envious of you.

Fawkes! Excellent!

That's a great question for King. Maybe I should also mention something about the ultimate sentinels of evil: clowns. Blech!
