Warning:  This is NOT a Lumos post.

Okay, just had to get that out ouf the way.  I hope all you folks have a wonderful time in Vegas!

As you know, I'm going to New York next week.  For those interested,
here is the question I ended up submitting for Rowling.

Each book seems to represent one of the seven Works of Mercy:

Book 1: Feed the Hungry
Book 2: ( Read more... )

I've never thought of the seven works of mercy IRT Harry Potter. Shows you how much I remember any of that stuff ;) Now, ask me about HP and the seven steps of alchemy and I might be able to tell you a tad more, though not much.

As long as there's a seven somewhere, it applies, right?

;)

So are you sick of these Lumos posts or what??

*hugs*

No I haven't seen that many Lumos posts yet. I want more information, dammit! ;)

Great question. Thanks for letting us know what you decided. I'd been wondering.

P.S. I'm more jealous of your trip than Lumos! ;)

There were just so many! It was impossible to decide. I really liked your suggestion about McGonagall trusting Hermione with a time-turner at the age of 13, too. And of course I could think of many about Snape and the Marauders. Oh well, all in good time.

I'm more jealous of your trip than Lumos!

I know, I keep reminding myself that I'd much rather see JKR than be a part, again, of the incredibly hot and surreal freak show that is a Harry Potter fandom convention. Hypocrisy must run in my genes...

LOL.

Ha!

So if that's true, all those Snape and/or Draco redemption fics might not be off the mark after all! LOLZ.

OOOH!

Or Percy. I do remember reading an interview she did that said we would find out why Percy was doing what he was doing because it was for a reason. My bet is that is has something to do with Penelope.

Personally, I hope Book 7 proves Percy's a prat so some of the outraged defenders will stfu. And I even like Percy.

Wow, I *love* your question.

I'm glad you posted about this -- I was thinking about this event a little while ago, and was going to ask if anyone on my f-list besides you was lucky enough to be going. Do you plan on taking a tape recorder (if one will even be allowed in), or are you going to take copious notes? I don't want to miss the chance to microanalyze every syllable that falls from Rowling's lips!

I don't know what kind of equipment they'll allow--I'm hoping I can snag some photos with my cell phone, at least.

I don't know if I can sneak in a mini-recorder, but note-taking is a fabulous idea! I'll have to get a little notebook and pen small enough to fit into the little handbag I'm using for the event.

Any other requests? :) I'm hoping that the Q&A part will consist of good stuff--a combination of funny and intelligent questions. Hopefully not stuff that any semi-serious fan would already know from her Web site--what a damn waste that would be.

Plus I have to sit through the Irving and King questions. *snore*

Hee hee. But I did end up asking King about the Rock Bottom Remainders, per your suggestion! I didn't have anything to ask Irving, but I'm sure I'll come away with more respect for him after the event. :)

I didn't know you were going to see JKR! That's so exciting!!

I think that's an excellent and very interesting question. I'm having a little trouble working out all the parallels you're drawing, though. Mostly, just the first two. Can you explain a bit? I'm really interested!

Thanks!
