This was really interesting. I remember you saying something about your sense of smell/taste before, but never really made the connection (like so many people apparently) about how fully it invades your life. On the same hand, it's your life and you deal with it well.
I really liked reading this. It's good to read your writing again.
I do think it would be different to have some memory of smell from before; maybe that's the blessing, that I don't recall anything. Amazingly I wasn't fully aware myself until writing this on how it affects me.
There's a book called, "Remembering Smell" in which the author speaks all about her experience with completely losing her ability to smell after a bout of illness. It's not one I'd recommend to just anyone; I haven't actually read it yet, but if you're interested it's out there.
Am glad to hear you enjoyed it. I enjoyed writing it, too. :)
I meant to comment on this before and I forgot. This was fascinating -- and I never knew that you suffered from this. Very inspiring how you accept your burdens and crosses with no self pity.
Aw, thank you so much. It's funny in that I hardly mention it to anyone, not because I'm ashamed or anything, but that I honestly don't think much on it. It's one of those aspects that, while affecting a great deal just doesn't seem important most of the time.
