Whoa! A murder trial! That is completely amazing. R actually worked both summers of law school with the Missouri Public Defener system. He loved it. The second summer, he was sith the Capital Division, which was all cases where the defendant faced the death penalty, so it was really intense, but he felt good about the level of representation the defendants received. Public defense varied from state to state, though, a lot.

How are you feeling? It is so good that you got confirmation that you had made the right decision - that was very respectful and responsible of the judge to give you the background information after the trial was over. But it must be an incredibly intense experience to have to make such a dreadfully important decision.

It was really neat! I'm so glad I got to serve on that jury.

A few weeks after the trial, I got a neat letter from the presiding judge, thanking me for my service. I think I've still got it somewhere. It's a pretty cool keep-sake of a sort.

I still feel so sad for Robert Bonds and his family. Especially his mother. He was only 16, just a baby!
