This is what comes of TWO snowstorms and being sick. A angsty-schmoopy S/V post-ep. You've been warned.

Title: A Thousand Gaps
Ship: S/V
Rating: G
Summary: "A hundred gaps, a thousand places in his life where Sydney should have been, but never was. It became habit, after a while, to fill her in."

Oh holy mother of all that is good.
This is absolutely beautiful. It's so poignant, and the way it should have been, and so true to the way I would imagine Vaughn feeling and the regrets that might have filtered through his head at times when he just couldn't see a reason to go on.
I seriously...have tears in my eyes right now...that was just so amazing. I'm sorry you're sick darling, but I have to say...I'm so glad this came out of it. The perfect afterthought to an amazing episode last night.

Catch him in the right moment, when his guard is down, and he'll tell you he bought a ring.

Perfection...plain and simple.
Must go read again.

This story is beautiful and heartbreaking, but above all it is perfect. It is such a wonderful companion piece to last night's episode. The Vaughn reflection and filling in the gaps seems a natural thing to do. I must go read the story again.

I am sorry you are sick. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks so much. It seemed like the most logical explanation for that SB story, IMO. And thanks for the well-wishes; I am feeling a bit better.

Aww. That was such a well-written piece. Very poignant, romantic... you captured what it almost seemed like was really going through his head last night. Very beautiful to read. :) You are an excellent writer.
