My piano teacher asked me to help him with his laptop today. sounds like the real problem is that the prof version is the default. Can you make adobe 9 the default pdf viewer? Alternately, you can dl Foxit and it's definitely free, and I know you'll be given the option to make it the default pdf viewer. It's also far less bloated than adobe, so uninstalling adobe could make has magic box work faster. Good luck!

Yeah, I think Manda -- and you -- are right, the problem is that it's trying to open PDFs with the professional version, which he probably doesn't have a licence for. If you right-click on the PDF, and then go to "Open With," you should be able to choose to open it with Adobe 9 instead, and I think that you can probably make it the default from there as well.
