I'm not sure if it's actually in the books, but from oh, man this is sad that I can't remember which movie...I think it is Two Towers...when Sam is telling Frodo that there "is some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for." It was after they were captured by Faromir and his men, and taken to that city...grr, I'm mad at myself that I can't remember things! Not Minas Tirith, but the other one that gets attacked by the Ringwraiths on those flying beasts. Anyway, Sam gives a big long speech that I wouldn't be surprised if it was taken directly from the book, but it's pretty much all about good and evil and the hope we have that even though there is so much evil, there is some good that is worth fighting for. Don't know if it applies for what you are looking for, but I think that's my favorite quote from the entire trilogy. Hope it helps. :o)
