don't have as many systems at home as you do.

just got a verbatin 500 GB external to replace the Maxtor I've been using.

the problem turned out not to be anything related to software.

power cord has a honkin big adapter that, with two other painfull large adapters, blocks half the outlets in the power strip......

grumble.....

now have to go buy another power strip (or a longer one or one with about three inches between each plug in point).

Nice. Backup drives have gotten pretty low cost. There's just no good reason not to have one.

Got two of these free from my old job, put a 2 TB Seagate drive in one, and not sure what I am doing with the other. I have been very happy with them though.

those actually caught my eye on Amazon. I ended up with the Western Digital from a cost perspective though...yup, free is good!
