Poll Which do you prefer? Drag and Drop or Cut and Paste?

My previous poll was interesting in that almost all of the people from the Western part of the US choose ree-sus. While Easterners mostly say ree-ses. For me when I say ree-sus it is almost ree-ses. It is almost the same, not too U-y ( Read more... )

Not sure if this was specifically referring to file/folder manipulation but if so then I always drag/drop. Opening files, moving them, whatever... Mac or Windows. Not something I used to do as a Windows user but once I switched I became so much more efficient at file management.

In case this is referring to text then my answer is opposite, I never drag/drop text.

oops, I should have finished reading before I answered.

Lately I've been opening a lot of zips and transferring them, I've found that dragging and dropping has been the way to go. Cutting and pasting takes a lil longer as then it has to delete the file from the zip archive.

So I edited my answer to equally but couldnt remove the vote toward cut and paste

I use drag and drop exclusively at work (left button at that!) due to the software, so I've gotten very used to it.

I'm with you on this one, I only drag-and-drop when it's necessary or when the computer is acting weird or something, I mostly use it to put things in a burning session of Nero.

Yay Eastern-ness! :D

When I highlight something, it auto-copies. When I middle-click it pastes. Seems a lot easier than either option...

Such is the miracle of Linux :)

There's apparently a way with keyboard shortcuts to copy several things simultaneously and paste 'em out in whatever order you want, but I haven't figured it out yet :)
