Squee! Random thoughts on The Office
I was waiting for the premier for what seemed like ages, and it was so worth it! There were so many things I loved about this episode.
+ Michael and Holly were so adorable together. Their chemistry is just aww-worthy and Holly seems to really understand Michael which is something Jan was never able to do. It's nice to see a woman like Michael for Michael and if given the chance, I think they could really have something. Unfortunately, I don't think this can go anywhere serious because Holly's character is only on for like 6 episodes according to spoilers with no current plans for more episodes. :( What a shame.
+ And OMFG we got some Ryan/Kelly! I know they are totally dysfunctional and don't have the healthiest relationship, but I can't help liking them (ok loving them). Kelly is just too much awesome, and her obsession with Ryan is kind of enduring (I don't know what this says about me that I see their relationship as cute, heh). But I do hope that she stays with Daryl a little longer. We need to see some jealous Ryan for a change. And after everything that has happened, he definitely needs to grovel for a bit.
+ Mmm, not really liking the Dwight/Angela affair too much. I really do like them together and think they fit perfectly (and are even cute) but Andy is one of my favorite characters and a total sweetheart to Angela so... yeah, not too thrilled with the possibility of him getting hurt.
* And of course there is Jim and Pam. What can you say? The engagement was expected but it was completely unexpected for the premiere! I thought for sure that we were going to have to wait a whole season to see it finally happen. But this show never ceases to surprise me. I thought it was beautiful to see Jim/Pam once again turn something so perfectly normal into something amazing. The rain, the rest stop, Pam's little ribbing before the proposal about the distance... I couldn't act for something better. Now I'm going to be super pissed if we don't see the planning of the wedding and the actual wedding so don't disappoint me writers!
Things I loved:
+ Michael/Holly's rap
+ Holly discovering that Kevin isn't "mentally challenged" (lolz!)
+ Kelly's extreme dieting (completely accurate characterization)
+ Andy and how adament he was about the weight loss (Luv you so much boo).
+ The return of the Michale love for Ryan.
+ 3 (!) Jim/Pam kisses
+ Ryan taking names for his list
+ Poor Toby in the hospital
Overall, a great opener for the season.
