Oct 12, 2012 23:33

Since we only have THREE lovely entries for Challenge No 143 (AND I have a broken computer!) I'm extending the challenge for an extra week, so it will now close on 19 October, and I'll post the voting on 20 October.

In the meantime, I'll be posting Challenge No 144 later tonight, so the two challenges will overlap!

And if anyone knows how to link directly to a challenge now that we have the silly 'collapse' business instead of a proper cut, please tell me!

What exactly do you mean with this?

Before, when you clicked on a cut, you went to a new page, and the URL (in the address bar) referred to that page -- in fact, it referred to the position of the cut on the page -- so, when I linked to a challenge, clicking on the link took you straight to the text of the challenge.

Now, when you click on a cut, it simply expands the text, so the URL refers to the top of the same page. This means that the link I've given to the challenge takes you to the main legolasicontest page, and you have to scroll down to the challenge and click on the link.

Do you know how to link directly to the challenge entry?

Here is the link to the Challenge 143: http://legolasicontest.livejournal.com/173323.html

I just checked ythe link in this entry and it only said "http://legolasicontest.livejournal.com". So just add "/173323.html" and everything should be working. :o)

I'm always using this code: <'a href="http://legolasicontest.livejournal.com/173323.html"target=_blank>Text. [without the ' between the < and the a in the beginning].

Do you have a sensible way to get to page ...173323.html, though?

When I view legolasicontest in its own style, the only way I can get to that page is by clicking on the comment link. If I click on the cut, it just expands the entry on the same page. (I can get the challenge page URL from the comment page by deleting #comments, but that seems like a crap bit of design on LJ's part!)
