Welcome to the world of out sourced Lego manufacturing. Since they moved the plants out of Denmark, things have gone downhill.
I've had a LOT of issues with the Sponge Bob sets; stickers are worthless and come off after 1 day, piece colour is not consistent on individual pieces, tall pieces can pushed in with your fingers (i.e. are not as strong as they used to be).
I spoke to a Lego rep about the issue and they told me to simply call Lego's customer service and exchange the sets.
The City sets I've recently picked up for the kids have had no issues with the stickers. I swear there are only a few plants out there which are screwing with the quality of the products (plastic, paint, stickers, etc...). The problem is figuring out which plant & which sets are affected. The boxes don't say where the pieces come from; I suspect this is because they are made in one plant and assembled into sets in another. As a result overall quality gets affected. It's sad.
Yeah. Maybe the reason why LEGO came to this point is because they got so popular. I mean, they produce such enormous amount of sets every minute that they can not manage a proper quality control. Though it’s disappointing indeed.
The people to complain to would be customer service. They would know who to talk to about this. The more people say this is a problem to them, the more likely it will be addressed.
i still pick up classic space legos at yard sales from time to time and the printing on most of those decorative tiles still looks pretty good. i am disappointed in how many new sets come with stickers instead of printed pieces and from what you're saying it looks like the few pieces that are printed aren't gonna be so great either

As long as the core AFOLs still support the company, I doubt they will care.
