AICon on the weekend, and it was great! LIttle bit of a step down from last year in terms of merch, but the panels and auctions were great (I picked up a huge stack of manga *heartheart*) and the cosplayers were waaaaayyyyy better this year. I gots me a furry hat! WITH EARRRRSSSS :3 Also picked up a cute figurine... but they were so expensive! >:( ( Read more... )

I love going to conventions. I went to an amazing one in Toronto called Anime North-- and the Dealer's Gallery was packed-- I had never seen so many kiosk selling so much manga. Figurines tend to be pretty expensive. The one I went to in Montreal (where I live), I bought three Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children figurines: Tifa, Vincent and Sephiroth. I think all three of them cost me $80.00, which is pretty good, since if you go to a comic shop, they usually price them $30.00 each or so, depending on which character sells more.

Hey, eighty is pretty good! :) And I would absolutely pay it for Vin/Tif/Seph <3 Oh, the fun I could have posing those three... >:3

The one I went to was kinda small, but as far as I know it's the only one around - anime of any kind's hard to get your hands on 'round here :/ Never been to anything near as big as Anime North, but it sounds fun! It's in... May? You going this year?
