Jealousy

Some often wonder what makes an elf jealous. It could be something simple, as seeing someone looking at your lover in a ‘questionable’ manor. It could be something like being jealous of humans for their mortality. On the other hand, it could be seeing someone with qualities that are beyond your abilities. Or maybe seeing a friend sail, finally answering the calling of the sea, while duty forces you to stay.

For me, I have had my moments of jealousy, but right now, they do not affect me much. I have found all I need in the form of one individual, the one that completes me. Everything else seems little compared to that.

Weapon of choice

Anyone that has seen the movies or read the books should know that already…a bow. I like my twin blades next to a good bow and arrow, but I will use the bow whenever I can. It is best to kill one’s enemies while it is far away than to have them try to hit you close up.

Fame/wealth/happiness

I have no need for fame. My actions are not done because I want someone to notice me, or to make me famous. I do things because I want to, it is required of me, or it will be for the greater good.

I have no need for wealth, for several reasons. One, I am a prince, and with that title comes certain privileges such as riches of the kingdom and my people provide me with all I need. In return, I help bring order to chaos, and I will protect them with my life.

Happiness is something I found recently and it is the most wonderful feeling in all of Arda. It is something I would chose over everything else.

What would be the point of living through this life if there were no happiness in your life?

Afterlife

You would think that being immortal would mean that we would not believe in an afterlife. Well, you are wrong. For an elf, we can die from wounds, but we will not die of old age. If we die, our souls enter into Mandos’ halls until the time we can return to Arda. Then at some point, most of us will answer the calling of the sea and sail to Valinor, or the undying lands. There we will spend the rest of eternity on the island of the Valar. These are more than just beliefs, they are so engrained into my being that they are apart of who I am.
