One of my campers went home today because she was so incredibly homesick that her family decided enough was enough. It's kind of a huge relief because she took up a TON of time and energy, but at the same time it sucks that we put so much effort into her and she hardly even lasted a week. I'm gonna miss her.

Now that the girls have classes most of ( Read more... )

There's a recording of her playing the Sibelius and the Saint-Saens Intro and Rondo capriccioso in the peabody library. I think it's with the philly orchestra, and she looked to be 18 or so.

It's pretty good.

Haha you Sibelius nut.
"Ms. Jenson made her Carnegie Hall debut at 19 performing the Sibelius Concerto with Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra."
That was probably what it is. I'll definitely have to listen to it when I get back, thanks for telling me!
How have you been doing?

I'm pretty good. I'm studying with John McGrosso(a juilliard baby) of the Arianna Quartet.

It feels soo good to be back on the violin.

I feel pretty isolated from the non Interlochen world. Not that I've been going online that much, but most of the time I'm on, I don't even bother signing on AIM because practically everyone's away and nobody ever talks to me.

I'm at home in PA now, until Tuesday, and can't use IM. But I like hearing about your Interlochen experiences; it sounds really cool. And she sounds like an awesome teacher.

I really wanted to go to his fiddle camp but it's like $600 for 5 days which is kind of silly, but my friend has gone for the past few years and really likes it, and is friends with Mark's son!

Wow, Jenson's web page is pretty sweet, and her recordings are incredible...- sounds - like you got really lucky.

I'll definitely send you a letter soon, perhaps with a review of the Live 8 concert!
