Not particularly, I was just reading the Wikipedia entry for today and his was the first name that lept out at me. It's also Napoleon's and Julia Child's birthday, and the anniversary of the Panama Canal opening.

I think that's awesome you're playing the Bruch. I've tried it and I can only go really slowly. I'm still stuck on Bach, but I may be done with it soon.
