Yesterday we went on a road trip north from Taipei to the coast of Taiwan (Japan, due north).  We went to a beach where I picked up some sand for the Endicott collection, then west to Tanshui where we visited the now defunct British Consulate, Paul's get-away condo, and they're old beach-house.  Here are some pics for yesterday's adventure.  More ( Read more... )

A little bit of Duncan trivia...  His dad just revealed that Gerber Baby foods approached him when Duncan was just an itty bitty baby to pose for their baby food products.

I ate a frickin "thousand year-old egg".  That's what it's called, and it actually tasted pretty good.

So - yesterday we went Serpentine hunting (a very pretty multicolored stone)... and finally found some.  We went to the Jade Market last weekend hoping to find some there, but to no avail, so we were quite excited to find some at the Chinese Handicraft Mart - a government run store.  See more pictures here.  There's a really nice mineral store in ( Read more... )
