Hmmm...

I could debate this list. I mean, there are some pretty horendously inaccurate movies out there that I have seen. Wonder what the qualifications were for making this list. Apparently though, if you want to make a historically inaccurate movie, hire Mel Gibson to help you.

I think I agree with most of their choices here, especially Elizabeth: The Golden Age. That movie was good for only two things: Clive Owen in garb ::drool:: and the shot of the wardrobe room ::double drool::

I havent seen it. The only reason I might would be Clive in garb. I've gotten the impression from people that did see the movie that its 2 hours of life they will never get back.

well, I did see it for free due to awesomeness of my aunt and her connections. I think if I would have paid for it I would have been pissed. I'd say it's worth renting, especially if you have a tv that can do justice to the garb.

I completely agree with you on that one. I was so disappointed with that film.

But Clive Owen was hot. Kinda like in King Arthur.

I agree with you and Qualstarian on 2001. The movie well predates the time period its based on. It doesnt count.

I agree about 300 as well. It was terribly innacurate, but it was based on the graphic novels and not on the history. It wasn't meant to be taken literally.

So, what movies should be on this list? Timeline was pretty bad. I'm sure that there are others I'm not thinking of.

I'm mildly certain that 2001 was on there as a joke, since it predated the "history" it describes by a good 30 years (and, to be fair, if it wasn't for the microprocessor and the sudden tunnel vision that it created in the R&D world, it could have been accurate).

As for the rest, I shall modify one of the old taglines for Sports Night: "Yeah, they're about history. The same way Charlie's Angels is about law enforcement."

It definitely wasn't the best list of inaccurate films. Many of those films weren't intended to historically accurate, or the things they were complaining about were pretty nit-picky.

Elizabeth: Golden Age was just a bad movie in general.

300 was a beautiful piece of graphic art.

Who really thought 10,000 BC was going to accurate? LOL!

Hmmmm... other inaccurate movies:
Cleopatra comes to mind.
Can we count King Arthur?
