Day four of my Atkins diet and things are going rather well. I've already managed to lose five pounds, although I do feel a bit groggy as my body seems to be craving the carbohydrates and sugar that I am denying it. At this rate, I hope to lose a stone in weight during my induction phase.

This two-week induction phase is meant to be the hardest part. After this I can re-introduce some carbs and sugar back into my diet.

How are you anyways?

That's great! From the people I know who have tried it, it seems men are much more successful with Atkins than women. Men seem to just drop the weight away, but I think because of women's childbearing mechanisms and hormones, the female body really fights the Atkins ketosis process so that women do not lose weight at a rapid rate. Not that I am a doctor or anything, but it's just my observation that the women I have known that have tried it have generally not been successful, even when they have stayed in the induction phase for several weeks longer ( ... )

Watch your cholesterol.
That diet can make it sky rocket.
Wouldn't want you having a heart attack over there, now would we?

I much prefer the Zone diet.

Nope and I am now starting to get a bit tired of frying nearly everything!
