A forest

I made this tiny (about 4'') watercolour last night. It was one of those great evenings when I know I have no work the next day and merely sitting down to paint fills me with happiness to the brim. (Actually, I was feeling downright manic. It must have been the cup of coffee I had late in the evening - I hope. XD)

Beautiful subtle colors and otherworldly mood.

Thanks, Athena! :) (though I feel the credit for the mood should mostly go to the photographer!)

Love the watercolor, even compared to the photo - feels more natural somehow, and I'm well aware that said feeling makes no sense. It also reminds me of the album covers an indie band I like (Sleeping at Last) did for it's 'Yearbook' series. They're all watercolor, and they look brilliant, in my humble opnion.

Also, love that Dell display. Have one of those on my desk at work. :P

Thank you!
I think I understand what you mean, and I suspect it's the somewhat grainy texture that gives you this feel!

Oh, and those watercolours look lovely. I'm gradually falling in love with watercolour. It has a lightness to it other traditional media don't.

That Dell is super nice! :D I was so chuffed when I got it last year! I'm also very pleased that works I paint in that display turn out very decently in print. So I guess it's just right! :)
