To any of you who are scientists or scientists-to-be out there, you might as well give up now. In the last week, I have realized that no matter how much we devote our lives to finding the scientific truth, whether it be effectiveness of drugs or global warming, it doesn't matter because politics always trumps science. I don't know how I can stand

Don't quit. After skimming your article (which I will read in detail later) I am grateful that there are people like you in medical school so hopefully, whoever is treating me will be as smart as you, and not just a political tool.

In fact, maybe I'll move to wherever you practice so I can make sure that I'm in good hands. I am confident that no matter how many political pieces of shit that you're forced to juggle, you will be able to get the right message across.

Maybe I shouldn't be making emotional support statements after *just* removing my birth control patch and therefore removing the hormonal barrier between me and the world (as well as watching a v. emotional Grey's Anatomy, have you seen that show?!?!?) but I am very proud of you and your stand on these issues, which I strongly support. I wish I was as brave and as vocal and as knowledgable as you are.
