Went up to Nikko to view autumn leaves with two friends today....yeah I know, it sounds nuts..but it's a 'thing' here. We left at 8am and got back at 6. Because it was a national holiday (Culture Day) the highways were busy and the road up the mountain was bumper to bumper with cars. Drove to the top of a mountain to see Kegon Falls...amazing.

The leaves really were beautiful...the red red red leaves are called momiji --basically Japanese maple trees. I took another picture of leaves on the ground that turned out rather well...I'll post that one soon. :)
