Saturday I'm presenting my portfolio to some folks from SCAD in Baltimore. Wish me luck.
Since I have no new art to post at the moment, or at least no photos of new art, I'm going to list some artists that I'm into right now.
Ericailcain: I can't get over this guy's work. I just found him through a link from Juxtapoz. The works I love most are his etchings, but he does a lot of cool, gigantic wheatpastings of his work on, you know, walls and stuff. I like it a lot.
Natalia Fabia: Beware, her website isn't the best. But her paintings are beautiful. Lots of fancy strippers.
Travis Millard/Fudge Factory Comics: His work is just awesome. He does a lot of stuff for skateboard companies, but I like his personal work best.
Ted Mineo: Just look at the painting posted below. Holy shit.
James Jean: Whoa. His best stuff is in his sketchbooks, which he has posted on his website. Check them out. They make me wish I could have such pretty sketchbooks. I'm not even posting anything from him, because I just want you to look at his sketchbooks.
Marion Peck: She's not exactly new, but modern nonetheless. A part of the weird gigantic eye thing that seems to be a big part of pop surrealism/lowbrow art.
I'm a pretty terrible art critic.
That's all I feel like posting. I hope you enjoy them. I hope someone will actually read this.
