Why is it that every time I talk to him now, I spend the next two days going over in my mind all those things that I never yelled at him, not because they were untrue or unfair or he didn't deserve them, but because I was simply too nice to say them?

Most certainly not "the boy" by which I refer to lairian. An ex, who seems to think we can still be friends, and I'm too nice to tell him to go away.

Amen to what Luth said...though I know how tough that can be when you really want to be nice. Just remember, he's an ex for a reason and you don't owe him anything. If he makes you stabby, write him out of your life.
