Something there is that doesn't love a wall...

I am inclined to blame the Enlightenment and the rise of Individualism in the modern, so-called civilized society for the desire to eliminate all walls between people. Their adamant belief that we should share, talk, compromise and cooperate seems to have inspired myriads of antagonistic streams within society, that close themselves up in small ( Read more... )

It truly baffles me how anyone can possibly side against Israel. Y'all are fighting for your lives, nothing more. That flotilla mess was just mindboggling.

Yup. I kept reading up foreign news and being all O_O whenever Israel was said to have used too much force. Even after the airing of those videos from the flotilla where you can see those "peaceful volunteers" waiting with chains, iron rods and knives, throwing soldier overboard, stealing their weapons and holding some of them hostage.

And the most enraging things is that the soldiers were briefed on boarding a peaceful vessels! Some of them weren't carrying heat, even, but just those rubberball guns. And still they were blamed! Ugh... world can be so illogical.

Reuters went so far as to crop out the weapons being held by the thugs assaulting the Israelis. And don't even get me started on Helen Thomas with her insane comment about Jews needing to leave Israel and "go back" to Germany and Poland.

Israel has been a stalwart friend to the US, and all it has ever asked is the right to exist and be free. The treatment it gets from the international community literally sickens me.

*hugs you*

Jay always says that the way to end a lot of the world's issues would be to kick the media out of war zones and just GET IT DONE!

I know it's not the same sorta thing, but I totally understand what you're saying. Everybody's nose in everybody's business.

I have to agree with Jay whole-heartedly. If the world didn't stick their noses where they don't belong - and in such a criminally biased oil-greedy way - this conflict would have been resolved years ago. But because the Western world keeps screaming 'foul' and we abide, the terrorist units get enough time to regroup and strike again.

I know in a way silencing the media is kind of suggestive of Dark Age oppressivenes, but... I dunno, after living within this for years and seeing all attempts at communication being spat on, your humanistic nature tends to shrivel up and die. =(
