So I am a consultant for UnderCoverWear - a brand I've been very proud of as they create great clothes that are suitable for all shapes and sizes. however, it always irks me that in their catalogue they just have skinny models for all of the clothes and then a double page spread (sometimes not even that) of 'plus size' girls modelling a sampling of ( Read more... )

annoyance.

Uuughh I can totally understand your anger. I think they'll do themselves a terrible disservice doing what they're doing anyway. Instead of being one of the very very few companies that cater to all shapes and sizes they'll come over as just being exactly like every one else and dissappear into the market. I'm continuely frustrated by the clothing industry's treatment of normal sized women. So much of the time all I see are clothes that won't fit/sit right on me. It's crap being made to feel you're abnormal just because you have breasts and hips!

EDIT: I took a look at the website and sheesh you wouldn't even know the company catered for all sizes. Not a single plus size model to be seen. Only when you go into the catalogue do you see them. And I have to say I see exactly what you mean. The way they state "something for everyone" almost feels like they're saying "something for you fatso freaks". It's both insulting and suggests the rest of the catlogue is NOT for them.

I know! ugh. it's been better previously, the last catalogue had quite a few pages of the plus size girls but even so they only put them in a few of the outfits, and I have to say they don't necessarily pick the most flattering ones for their size *shakes head* why don't they get it?!

I've never seen this catalog but why don't you suggest that they put a plus-sized AND an anorexic-sized model in the SAME clothes on the SAME page so that it negates the whole issue of 'turning the page if you can't identify'.
