Our program director is in the heart of the group wearing the ballinest Obama shirt ever.

We'd camped out at a our beloved Scottish Pub 'til 3am with the American bartender who made sure CNN stayed on as the first counts rolled in on the east coast. The next morning we woke up to an unbelievable breakdown of electoral votes, then crowded around a computer and, several hours after the fact, watched Obama graciously accept his election to the office of President of the United States of America. There were a lot of tears and hugs and tentative smiles and we most certainly uncorked several bottles of champagne. And, most importantly, there was hope. And a small glimmer of pride. Change has come to America.

From Italy with love. Un bacio.
