Know what's funny about Buck-Tick?
It's all Hisashi Imai's fault that Buck-Tick exsists. His parents owned a convinent store and all the members of the band hung out there. Also, Imai didn't know how to play an instrument. Yutaka Higuchi (Uta) wanted to be in a band too, so they decided to get together and discuss forming a band. A funny fact is Imai's mother said, that Imai was difficult to wake up in the morning, so she sent Uta to do it. Awww. Anyway, Uta's older brother, Yogami Toll, played the drums in a band called Spots (who changed their name to simply SP)..and Uta always liked to hang out with the bass player of Spots. This is how Uta decided he wanted to play bass. Thus, he bought a 40,000 Yen jazz bass.
Hidehiko Hoshino (Hide) was a good friend of Uta since the beginning of high school. Uta asked Hide to be in a band, and Hide was extremely happy because all he'd do after school is go above his parents fish store and read comics. He was previously interested in football(soccer) but since he wasn't the best player anymore his interest for sports faded. Uta reall wanted Hide to bea vocalist (because he thought Hide was tall and good looking), but Hide really had his heart set on being on guitar, and Imai decided he wanted to be on guitar too. Hisashi bought a used Fender strat imitation Fletcher at 29,800 Yen. He also bought an amp from a fried and a distortion pedal. For some reason, it felt weird for him to pluy right handed, so he prefers playing left handed (Jimi Hendrix? o.o) and always said it was hard to find left-handed guitars.
Atsushi Sakurai, who had been in the same class as Imai for over a year and never spoke to him offered to play the drums..He bought a beat up used drumset for 30,000 Yen. Now, a friend of Imai named Araki was lined up as the vocalist..
Now, all they needed to learn was how to play. o.o
