Nothing seems to be going anywhere with that company that was so keen a fortnight ago. Grr.

Anyway, trying to come up with ways to get something. Have already had two people going 'ooh, but no, not until after Xmas/New Year/The Great Day in which Lord Ctullu smashes Down the Gates of Hell, etc.  I knew perfectly well that starting this biz at this ( Read more... )

FWIW, I like the blue business card better. And that giant "JUMP!" is just too damn distracting.

I have a question...

Ever heard of Vampire Vodka? :>

Hmm. I may be printing off both biz cards, aiming them at different clients. My mum was 'ugh, orange', but dammit I like orange...

Vampire Vodka. No. I'll (pardon the pun) bite. What is it?

Your mum must have my eyesight. :D

Vampire is a British (English? :) brand of vodka; I'm trying to track down a bottle for Marty Gear. Perhaps it's just a myth, like the Yeti.

Remember, I don't really drink, so wouldn't know anything barring the local breweries. I can pop in the local if you'd like, and ask. ^__^

Yetis are myths! Nooooo!

OK...since you asked. I really like the first tiger card, but if you have to have text on it, I would prefer that 'Jump' be moved up and over, perhaps with a vertical format in the vertical white space in front of the tiger. (Love the tiger, BTW) As it is, the word 'Jump' obscures the words 'in your.'
As for the business cards, I prefer the first, orange one. Though I would prefer the font on 'wall art, murals, illustrations' to be bolded a bit to bring it out better. That, or use the same font as the address and info. I especially like how the 'i' in 'Illusory' is white on orange...it really catches the eye!

Oh, ack, forgot to double check the formatting on the Jump. Overlap is bad. And yes, I like it more stripped down, but have to have the text in there somewhere, so people know what I do!

I've another font I've been considering for the top line of the biz card for much that reason. Tried the info font below, and it looked awful. *rueful grin* It's amazing when you play with fonts what works in which position and what doesn't.

And yay! Gecko likes the orange! ^___^

I second your Dad's suggestion that the first tiger card would make an excellent buisness card.

First tiger one, definitely. As the other two, can you get a mixture of both? With the fonts, I love the title font, but maybe something clean, clear and elegantly sans-serif for the details? Just a thought...

On another note, if I were to ask for a graphics tablet for Christmas, what would you reccommend in the not-to-expensive line-up. I think there's a Wacom A6 size for £30-£50. Any thoughts/reccommendations?

Not a clue for the tablet. There are two types, tho, for Wacom. The Graphire is for graphicky things, the other one (inspire? damn, forgot the name) is for art. They come with different software, and different pressure responsiveness. You're looking at it for your photography, right? Go for a Graphire. Less pressure sensitivity, but they work fine, and are cheaper at a larger size. I've the A4/3 whatever Graphire, bit old but works fine. You can probably get cheap ones off ebay from people upgrading.

Mmm. Sans Serif. Good point. I used Orange LET for the info font, mostly because I loooooove the numbers on that font. The 'wall art, etc' font, I thought a more hand-written look... but yes, should relook at sans serif. The title font is University Roman, I think. (why yes, I am a font geek.)

I like the first tiger card, but the blue font one. Yeah, I'm a troublemaker. :)

Yay happy early birthday?!?

Danke! I accept early birthday yays.

Irreverant nuiscance! Pest! ^__^ But if you'd -really- wanted to be annoying, you'd have asked for the fonts to be in green and madder rose or something. :P

As I was turning into the driveway today I was wondering "hey, I wonder what JJ is up to?" Which I immediately forgot about because I was busy driving at the time.

The tiger without the words is aesthetically pleasing and makes look and wow. The one with the words is too busy, I shift off of it as quick as I can. Less words maybe in the space to the right/under the tiger's grasp? I think the color of the company name etc. go well with the tiger. Yes, the left would make a good business card.

For the cards, I like the blue maybe becomes off a bit softer and more natural. Fonts are good, readable without being too plain, slightly arty without being irritating.

I'll play this game through, but I'd like to try a different character next game, maybe The Bard.

*hugs* for jaw and other sundry negative things.
