"Puss in Boots" total dominance!!

Does anyone use LiveJournal anymore?  I haven't posted in some time.  Oh well, gotta get it out somewhere:

Dreamworks's Puss in Boots is fantastic!  I never, ever thought I'd see the year that Dreamworks's offering beat Pixar's.  But boy, did it.

Don't get the wrong idea: It doesn't come anywhere near Toy Story 3 levels.  But was it completely deeper ( Read more... )

I loved it although I'm a little sad that it seems to have over-shadowed Kung Fu Panda 2 which I felt had a more powerful storyline. Puss in Boots was a little more fun, but both were amazing.

I've actually not seen either of the Kung-Fu Panda movies, but I've been told that I should!

The first one was good, but the second blew the first away, both with art direction and the storyline. The storyline for Kung Fu Panda 2 is one of the most ambitious I've seen in a "children's" film. It actually tackles genocide and has some definite Holocaust parallels.

Oh ... lol, I guess I only looked at the Entertainment Weekly review. They tend to review to my taste, but I also thought they were the easier of reviews. I'd like to watch it anyway though. I heard Antonio Banderas and Selma Hayek requested to record together, which is pretty awesome.
