Guess what I picked up in Amsterdam? Vellum! It was relatively reasonably priced, too! A 40 x 45 cm piece for 30 euro, entirely usable.

I wasn't aware you were thinking of Italy for the long term! My parents are actually considering a partial retirement in Italy, just during the spring and fall. What part of Italy is most in your favor?

Well that's more or less up for grabs, but the area around Trento (north-east, about 2 hour drive from Venice) particularly impressed me. Of course, it would be kinda cold in the mountains in winter..

But kitty and I definitely agree we want to retire in Italy.

Neat. I haven't seen any of northern Italy. We were only as far north as Naples, but have been on most of the coastline south of Naples.
