recipe remakes

It's been a weekend for remaking food. There was a cranberry wild rice from T-giving weekend that we turned into veggie burgers. Some herbs, nuts, seeds, mozzarella cheese, garlic, cayenne and egg helped to counter the sweetness of the original flavor, while still complimenting it. We're probably gonna have our "childless" couples new years eve party again... though we've barely invited anyone yet. ;) You both are very welcome, It'll probably be a pretty small group 6-12 people, with a vegan food spread.

Indeed, slowcookers are great and you may wish to try regular stuff. Chili, for example, is great in a crock pot cuz it gives the flavors time to blend. Plus you can jazz up chili however you like, I make mine with chocolate and chipotles. Most recently, I made a huge batch of fantastic black beans, I soaked them overnight in the ceramic insert, in the morning drained off the water and replaced it, then let them cook. Added some light spices and they turned out great! (I actually intended to use them for chili or soup, but they're so good I just eat them with corn chips. :) )

Can you share any chili recipes? Especially what you do with chocolate and chipotles; that sounds tasty!
