Random thought of the day: I'd been (trying not to?) ponder why I've been adverse to active thinking exercises recently (within the last couple years). It occurred to me today that it isn't so much that I avoid them, as that I do them so much at work, I try to use the other parts of my brain when I'm out of work. I'm right there with you. I can see this most in my reading habits. When I'm using a lot of brain at work I read fluffy vampire novels and when work is more mellow I read Napoleonic era fiction, Roman history and books about neighborhood development and land use planning.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one with this trend. I swear some people I know stay analytical/scientific at work and at play and I don't know how they stay sane!
