For the past few years one of my main regrets has been that I didn't continue to play the oboe after high school. I didn't want to try out for a band or orchestra, and the oboe's not exactly the type of instrument where you can rock out on your own, so I just stopped playing music ( Read more... )

That would be cool. Yesterday I sat down and learned two chords, and amazingly I still remember them today. It takes me like half a minute to switch between the two... but whatever, baby steps. =)

Leslie is way awesome.
That's why I had to share this tidbit with her.
Leslie really liked cool Japanese bands (at least, that's what I remember her liking...) and now I've come across this cute little underground band called, "Dear Loving" (cute!) It has four reallyreally (or, "mecha-mecha", if you've been hanging around Osaka, like cool people (aka, me)) Japanese guys. They call themselves "pojipoku" music, which means a mix of "positive" music, pop music, and rock music. They're the sweetest things!
Anyway, this is the kind of stuff I thought Leslie would like, because last time I checked, she liked hot Japanese guys. I could be wrong...
But I would like to share this piece of joy with her: the ultra-awesome 26-year-old teacher that took me with her to see this band BOUGHT ME THEIR T-SHIRT! Not only that, she got the LEAD SINGER (Masa-nyon ("kun" in Osakan dialect (?))) to sign it! (can you follow all the parenthesis?)
So, maybe Leslie should know about that.
And come visit.
