In the first story, a woman and her family are dining at a local restauarant in Florida, Houston's. She is asked to leave because she's ZOMG breastfeeding her baby. As you know, I'm CF and rather freaked-out by babies to boot, but I think it's just fine for people to breastfeed in public if they cover themselves adequately. Like you said, cover it up with a blanket or something. Granted, I think it would be better for them to go somewhere secluded (ie, a bathroom), but if one isn't available or something...

Also, that's really sad about the little boy! I agree--I think the responsibility falls mostly on the parents for not correctly supervising the boy/not teaching him to leave the crocodiles alone. It's too bad this ignorance had to cost him his life.
