Yesterday marks one month since the night Matt and I were randomly attacked in an attempted robbery while smoking a cigarette outside my apartment. Since then, I've been more cautious when I've gone outside to smoke. Now I no longer want any reason to be outside that late. You see, tonight I went out back where I have never seen anybody walking. Maybe two years in the newsroom have made me a cynic, but it sounds like something a small market TV station would love for sweeps... I can picture the promo, "Cigarettes can give you lung cancer, but did you know they can put you in real danger? Watch tonight at 10 for more." At least my old station liked scaring people like that. ("You're going to die. We're telling it like it is at 10.")

Sweeps months are February, May, July and November, if it helps.
